So as most of you have figured out - I'm a big fan of Lost. Thus I had no choice when the Lost video game Via Domus came out, I had to buy it. I have now played through it and beaten it and here are my thoughts, which I'm sure all of you were waiting to hear until deciding whether to purchase the game or not:
The Good:
- It is fun to run around in the Lost world. Most of your favorite sets are available to play around in: the beach, jungle, Black Rock, Swan, Flame, Hydra.
- Some of the Lost actors did their own voices. Sun, Ben, Tom, Claire
- The way they handle each level is laid out just like a Lost episode. You have a brief intro, something crazy happens and the Lost logo pops up and then the level begins. Then each level finishes with something crazy happening and the Lost logo pops up again.
- The music is either directly from the show or a very good cover.
The Bad:
- The game is short
- The game is ridiculously easy
- The story isn't that great
- The Lost characters who aren't played by their actual actors sound stupid. Locke sounds like a crazy native american shaman for petes sake!
- The ending doesn't make sense. Although that is par for the course in the Lost world...
So my advice to you is either rent it or borrow it from me cause it's not worth $60. Sadly :(
